You who love me the most

    2024-07-26

Hello everyone, my name is Xinxin. I am from Heze, and I am 11 years old. These two elderly people are my grandparents. Today, I want to share our story with you.

In 2012, I was born. Due to being premature, I couldn't breathe on my own after birth and was sent to the neonatal intensive care unit. At that time, my parents and grandparents all hoped that I would be safe and sound and return to them from the incubator as soon as possible. Finally, I didn't let them down and pulled through.

Day by day, I grew up under the careful care of my family. When I was nine months old, my family noticed that my eyes were different from other children, so they took me to the hospital for a thorough examination. This day was very special to me because it was the day I was diagnosed with hypoxic cerebral palsy. It was also the day I lost my mother's love.

But it's okay; my grandparents gave me more love than anyone else. Although life was a bit tight, I am very happy.

Due to my illness, my legs lack strength, and I can't walk on my own. My grandparents carried me everywhere to seek medical treatment. Whenever there was even a glimmer of hope, they would take me to try it, spending every day traveling between hospitals and rehabilitation schools. Over the years, the search for a cure exhausted the family's meager savings, but the results were minimal. Countless times, I've imagined being able to walk, to play games like tossing sandbags and hide-and-seek with friends, or even just to stand up on my own.

Fortunately, my grandparents never gave up on me. They heard about a public welfare project that provides free surgery for children with cerebral palsy and decided to take me to learn more about it. After a detailed introduction from the staff, our hope was reignited. My grandmother often says that her expectations for me are not high; she just hopes that I can take care of myself in the future. Therefore, for this goal, we will try every possibility, no matter how slim the chance.

On the day of the surgery, I was very nervous, but my grandmother held my hand and comforted me. I am everything to my grandparents; they must have been even more scared than I was. Thinking of this, I felt like I wasn't afraid of anything anymore. I wanted to cooperate well and strive to recover quickly, so I could leave the hospital and return to school. I want to study hard, grow up, and earn money to take care of my grandparents.

On the third day after the surgery, my grandmother helped me out of bed, and to my surprise, I found that my legs and waist had regained strength. My grandmother also felt that supporting me became easier. The doctors and nurses were very pleased to hear about my improvement and advised me to cooperate with rehabilitation training at home, which I will definitely do. Thank you to Grandpa Tian and the uncles and aunties at the hospital. You have illuminated the path of my growth, and I will face the future with determination.

That concludes Xin Xin's story, but the lives of Xin Xin and her grandparents continue. We will continue to monitor Xin Xin's progress.

Shandong Caijin Health Group, together with the China Health Promotion Foundation and the Shandong Disabled Persons' Federation, has successively launched the "Sharing Sunshine - Caring for Disabled Children" relief project and the "New Hope" national public welfare project for children with cerebral palsy. They have successfully assisted over 1,000 children with brain diseases, with varying degrees of improvement in postoperative symptoms. These children may have intellectual disabilities, visual abnormalities, epilepsy, and may also have hearing and speech disorders, cognitive and behavioral abnormalities, and more. However, please never give up on them. With timely detection, consistent treatment, and rehabilitation, many children with cerebral palsy can experience significant improvement and even regain their health.
